Who Abducted 11-Year-Old Jacob Wetterling?
On October 22, 1989, Jacob Wetterling, his younger brother Trevor and best friend Aaron Larson rode their bikes down a country road in St. Joseph, MN to the Tom Thumb store to rent a video. As they headed home about 9:00 pm a masked man with a gun appeared, told them to throw their bikes into the ditch, then to lie down on the ground. One by one he ordered them to run to the woods and not look back or else he would shoot them, except for Jacob who he kept.
Jacob has not been seen since and there are few leads about the suspect who is described as having a low raspy voice. Jacob’s photo then at the age of 11 and aged progressed to show how he would look today at the age of 35 are pictured above. Jacob has a mole on his left cheek, a mole on his neck and a scar on his knee.
It has been 25 years since Jacob’s abduction and a friend, family member or coworker of the kidnapper may have useful information to help solve this case. They can come forward and remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers of Minnesota.
