The judge in George Zimmerman’s defamation lawsuit against NBC Universal is set to hear arguments on June 19th over a request by the media company’s lawyers to dismiss the case.  The case had been postponed due to the criminal trial, which ended in the acquittal of Zimmerman, who shot Trayvon Martin in an altercation last July in Florida.  Zimmerman sued NBC in 2012 saying he was defamed when the network edited his 911 call to make him sound like a racist.  NBC Universal has admitted and apologized for the editing.  In a response filing, NBC says that Zimmerman failed to comply with law regarding retraction requests after the broadcasts at issue and that their broadcasts did not cause Zimmerman harm.
