Prosecutors in the Massachusetts murder case of Aaron Hernandez, a former New England Patriot tight-end, want the judge to recuse herself.  Hernandez was at a pretrial hearing Wednesday when prosecutor William McCauley said he was filing a motion to ask Judge Susan Garsh to step down.

He and the district attorney say that McCauley and Garsh “have a well-known and publicly documented history of antagonism.”

Hernandez’s lawyers plan to object to the recusal and Garsh didn’t hear arguments on the issue at the hearing.  Hernandez allegedly murdered 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who was dating Hernandez’s girlfriend’s sister.  Hernandez has pled not guilty.  Four others face a range of allegations in the case as well.
